On Our Way again!

Hi all
Time to be on the move again.
Dinosaur National Monument is as great place for some
Great scenery, peace, solitude and quiet.
I don’t think I would much like the heat in the summer.
October is a great time.
Still need lots of water along as there is not much for services.
Campground is wonderful and the restrooms are clean and flush.
Yesterday we visited the Dinosaur Quarry.

Saw lots of old bones and great displays
Including the wall in the quarry with some of the bones.

Of course everything referred to them as bones
But they are fossils or they never would have made it
For us to view.
After we went driving back into the monument
To Josie’s Cabin.

The woman, at the age of 40 with her husband gone
And children grown
Moved up there and built a cabin, planted fruit trees
Raised some livestock and lived there for 50 more years.

You really have to make the 45 minute drive back in to appreciate
How alone she was back up those canyons.

On the drive back, the scenery is great and several area with petroglyphs.

OK, some of the wall art was not
by the Ancients!

Then we drove up towards “Blue Mountain”
Never got that far when we realized how isolated we were

And had no water with us, so after about 6 or 7 miles of poor dirt road

We turned around and went back to our Big White Box for
Adult beverages and supper.

Got up this morning and packed up
Now on the road to Colorado National Monument
And a few nights there before off to Moab.

Make your day great because we live in such a wonderful
Beautiful country.
