Busy Day

Good morning all!
Work, work, work.
That's how the day started.
Clean the BWB
Laundry
Put things away
and get ready for company!

So once we got ready
we took off for a short hike.
About 5 miles south of Moab
just outside of Spanish Valley,
is a place called Faux Falls.
Sounded interesting and on Google Maps
looked like there would be a water fall there.
Enjoyed our nice short drive and came to Ken's Lake
A recreation area and campground built around a reservoir.
From the trail head we could see the falls.
Real pretty on the red rocks.
Temps were warm and being BLM land we could
take our fur kids with us on the hike.
Grabbed the cameras and water and headed out.
A bit up hill but not a long hike.
Got to the base of the falls and it was cool with the bit of wind we had.
The falls is actually man made.
Looks like someone diverted water from a creek on the other side of the ridge.
The water comes out of a large culvert and creates the falls, then flows down
to Ken's Lake reservoir.
Don't know if it is a water source for Moab or a source for irrigation.
What ever, it make a very pretty, cool place in the desert.

Enjoyed poking around there for an hour or so

then got the text from Rob and Chris that they had arrived.

Back down the hill and home to our BWB.
A few adult beverages
great conversation
Good chili with banana bread for dessert.
Wonderful evening with Rob and Chris.
Great moonrise from our conversation pit.

Today, road trip!
Will show you tomorrow, assuming I get a few good photos.

Make today a great day and be happy!
