Tuesday at the Beach

Got up early this morning
Sun was visible

What we saw from our window.

Then off to the beach.

And the clouds moved in and became gray day.
Back to Ed's and helped put the boat covers back on the boat
the storm last week blew them off.
After noon we headed out for sightseeing.
Went up to Fort Stevenson at the mouth of the Columbia River.
We have now seen the headwaters and a big share of the river,
This is the jetty that helps protects the mouth of the river

We also went to the site of Fort Stevenson where the bunkers
built for gun emplacements during WWII still exist.
These were to protect the Columbia from invasion.
Interesting place. Worth the side trip if you are in the area.
Guess what?
Yep, the rain started again while at the Fort.

Also went to the beach access for the shipwreck (Peter Iredale)
This is the result of he storms.
We have trouble getting sand to stay on our beach
They have a different problem.

The payloader is moving the sand from the restroom parking lot.
at the beach access (to the right) the sand appears to be around 2.5 to 3 feet deep.
Can't imagine what the storm would have been like here.
The winds were around 60 mph and the surf was upwards of 30 feet.
Wasn't there so I can't confirm the media's report, but they got the info somewhere.
Kind of glad I wasn't there!

A little shopping and back to the big white box.
put together taco fix'ns and went next door to Ed and Carol's
Supper was great and so much fun talking.
Home and when done with blog
heading for bed.

Hugs to all
and enjoy this Christmas season.
