China Ranch road trip

Howdy!
Tuesday got LP fuel for the trailer.
Easy, right at the RV Park
After, we packed up and headed out to
China Ranch Date Farm.
The drive was pretty relaxing as traffic was sparse.

Neat oasis back in the desert
and it really is a date farm.

Lots of green and actually on a "river"
You could even get your feet wet!
Sampled several varieties of dates
looked around the gift shop,
didn't find anything
we were willing to pack and travel in our big white box.
Bought some date chocolate chip cookies, yum
and a date sampler pack
then had a "date shake"
not only made with dates
I shared with my date!

Some of the newer date palms
and in the background some of
the producing trees.
You can just see the "bags"
covering the dates.
Those keep the birds from the dates.
A broken china mosaic sidewalk panel at the Ranch.

The hills across the river at the Ranch.
One of the formations along the road down to the ranch.
Interesting area with lots of Gypsum and silver mines in the area.
The return trip consisted of a loop.
Through Shoshone, NV and up to Death Valley Junction.

And lots of desert.
A lot of green, but so far no "blooming"

Unfortunately we did not find the "Tap Room".

Some more desert

And a little playing with panoramas and photoshop.
It really does look much like this
it is big and things are much further away than they look.

Finally on the road back into Pahrump, NV
Our temporary home.

In the evening we took advantage of the RV park's coupon book.
And went to The Pahrup Nugget for buffet
free t-shirt and a couple of their dollars gambling.

Then home to edit photos and a good nights sleep.

Make your day great today
Hugs
Tom and Millie
