Getting High in New Mexico

Hi (no pun intended) all

Left Brantley lake yesterday morning and had an uneventful drive to Cloudcroft, NM
Started out at 3200 feet above sea level
and set up the BWB at an elevation of 8650
Moved pretty slowly and still had time to relax, visit with neighbors
have supper and a fire before bedtime.
Millie made fantastic spaghetti and meatballs with garlic toast.
She did well since we are boondocking and have no hookups.
We are in a beautiful Forest Service campground.

The BWB is the big kid on the block as it is the maximum length allowed.
The RV sites and the roads are all blacktop so little to no dust as it is extremely dry.
We heard they did not get any snow this winter,
and this area depends on snow for the skiing that is it's main source of income,
along with summer visitors.

Had no trouble getting it in and can see why, even in the big sites you still have to wiggle to get in.
No electricity, water or sewer. Just depending on the BWB and it is performing well.
Definitely have to get the solar panels out today as the batteries are down.
Temp was 34℉ when I got up at 6 this morning.
So with the furnace on all night and using a few lights, we are good.

Visiting with the neighbors around the campfire last night
got us a few good ideas to do today so will see what happens.
Probably no hikes, just a few walks since we are no acclimatized to this altitude.
Have to take it easy and enjoy the tall pines.

Enjoy the day and make it great
Tom and Millie
