Trying to settle back in

Hi all
The house is a mess
the camper is a mess
and our lives are full. (big grin)

We got home Tuesday
and the boyz were sure happy to sit at home again.

Wednesday we got up and drove to Detroit Lakes
to get our big white mule serviced
Oil change and tire rotation.
Then we drove over to the lake cabin to check it out.
All is well and waiting for us to open
However, the ice is not yet off the lake
Of course we have not put our lives back in order at home
so we have to wait a few more weeks.

And the good news is Chelsey is moving back to Fargo
Her employer agreed that working out of their offices here
would help keep up the high standards.
Meaning Thursday, Carissa and I, drove out to Bismarck to help her move.
Got her mostly loaded up before supper
Then went out to eat with all her helpers.
This was my dinner date, Juniper.

I think she was trying
to imitate my facial hair!
I just loved the serious look.

Early bed and up to finish loading the few things left.
Grabbed breakfast and on the road.
We were not the only ones relocating.

Lots of geese covered the sky and many fields.
Snow geese looked like snow on the sloughs.

After getting home and unloading a few things
we were greeted with the reason we got going early.

This is the first snow that accumulated on our Big White Box since the winter of 2012-2013.
Was really hoping not to see this, but it is still too early here for green grass and daffodils.

Today we moved most of Chelsey's stuff to storage
until she can find an apartment or a house.

Yes the house is a mess
and the camper is a mess
we are just happy to be home!

Home!

Hi all
WE MADE IT
14,000 miles later
got to spend the night in a room that did not move when we moved.
So quiet too!
I guess I did miss sleeping in a real building.
Last shot of our Big White Box on the road.

After the great tailwind on Monday
Tuesday gave us a headwind
knew it was going to change, but only 180 miles to go.
And watching the weather reports snow was on the horizon.
Winter storm across SD and Southern MN
so heading north was perfect timing.
(Still miss the desert)

Just to prove to those that thought we would never be back

Rolled into Fargo about 1:30 pm.
Worked on cleaning the truck
emptying the camper and figuring out what to do with all this space.

Now it is back to figuring out what retirement is and getting the house in order.
Make your day great
Hugs (and our big adventure is not over, so stay tuned)

Travel, travel, travel!

Hi all
Big day for us
425 miles and 5 states.
Started in Merriam, KS
Then into Missouri

On to Iowa

Then to Nebraska

and finally to South Dakota

What a blur
Decided to take advantage of a 20+ MPH tailwind
and book it for home.
Only made it to Brookings, SD in the Walmart parking lot
We are tired, supper a little ice cream and off to bed.

One more I just have to share
I got real confused when I saw this,
thought we had been there last December?

Good night to you all
and remember, Make your day great!
Hugs

Productive and enjoyable day

Hi all
What a great day!
Stuck around the RV Park for the morning
and Millie got laundry done and I took care of some trailer duties.
Getting ready to head for home.
Walked around the park and got some spring photos

Don't even know what this shrub is, just pretty and covered with flowers.

I'm fairly sure this is apple.

And these poking out from a secluded corner.

After duties and laundry done
we went to cousin Linde's
Saw some of her Dad's, brother Lloyd and her art work
What a talented family!
Beautiful work and wondering why I missed out. (sad face)
OK, maybe puppy dog eyes.
.
.
.
.
Yep, no sympathy here.
We also got to meet Loki
Linde's sweet Scottie/Poo

So much fun and again, why oh why do we let family slip away for so long?
Happy to reconnect and hoping for more good times.

Well, that pretty much wraps up our day
so make tomorrow great
Hugs

Kansas City, or close.

Hi all
What a beautiful start to the day
Great campsite, quiet, cold and wonderfully lit by the moon and stars.
Morning fog on the lake at sunrise.

Frost on everything, yes even way down south there is frost.

Sun melted it off quickly.
Nice campsite in lovely little park.

About 9 AM a bunch of boats all took off at the same time.
Was a fishing tournament.
We left soon after so don't know how the fishing went.
One more fog photo and a Photoshopped image

Fun to play and see what different effects some settings have.

Uneventful drive to Mirriam, KS
Got set up in the RV Park, sandwiched in between much bigger rigs.
and just enough room to put our little slide out.
After a nap and lazing around
out to supper with Cousin Linde
More than 50 years and so many experiences we have each had.
Looking forward to seeing her Father and Brother's art work tomorrow.
Probably better than any museum because I knew these people.
Linde and Me after supper.
About it for today
Home to bed and nice dreams

Make tomorrow great

Kansas

Hi all
Short trip today
Made it to Kansas and found a nice little State Park
Decided to stay here as Kansas City will be a short drive tomorrow
and hoping for the head wind to settle down.
Here is our campsite

And the view from it

Pretty isolated feeling,
but about 200 yards away is a small housing subdivision.
Will be dark tonight and maybe some stars
Plan to sleep good.

Playing a bit with Photoshop

Spring is about 2 weeks behind Tulsa (sad face)
That's about it for today.
Make tomorrow great

Last day in Oklahoma

Hi all
Had a great day
weather perfect and finished stocking the trailer
so we headed to a near by town on

Bristow, OK
went there looking for advertised antique shops
only one we found was closed.
Millie did find a place that had some quilting stuff.
So we had lunch at the Boomerang Cafe
Looked around the town a bit and enjoyed the weather

Headed home, just had to go through
Slick, Oklahoma
who'd a thought?
Easy trip home
and then spent a little time relaxing on the "patio"

Trailer duties and prep for travel.
The RV Park we are in has a huge arena
and tonight they had lots of people on horses,
think they were here to practice barrel racing.

This is from our campsite.
Off to bed so we can travel

Make your day great

Have'n fun.

Hi all
Tuesday proved to be a productive day.
Shopping done and all most restocked.
Had some fun dreaming about RV upgrade
only issue would be bigger truck to go with it.
We will think about it over the summer.

Out for Mexican with Mike, Jeff and Linda

This is twice out with them and enjoyed every minute.
After dinner we went back to their home.

Beautiful home and such a great kitchen.
Visited till late, for them, yeah, they still have "jobs"
Our fur kids make their little "Tootsie" nervous
I think with a little more time they would chase around and have a good time.
Looks like Tootsie knew how to protect Mike.

Such a great time and great people.
Hope to get together again and not wait 50 years to do so.

One last share is Tootsie

That's it for this morning.
Not sure what we are doing the rest of the day.
Make your day great
Hugs

Sunday and Monday

Hi all
I will start with our Sunday
as I have been lazy again and use one post for two days
It's a retirement thing I guess!

Started Sunday morning with a great sunrise.

Light winds and going to be a pleasant day.
Decided to drive out to the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore, OK

Very nicely done and he wasn't even a politician!
Started out as a cowboy.
Was also a trick roper, radio personality newpaper columnest, humorist and movie star
among other things.

You all may have heard some or many quotes that are attributed to him.

So here are some of my favorites..........political statements.

Some more about life

And one of my favorites

Last, and likely the most profound

Something about those American Cowboys
Think we need to find more for Washington
unfortunately that much common sense would not fit in very well there.

On our way home the weather had changed a bit.
Nice wall cloud with only heavy rain and some small hail.
Got about 2.5 inches at the RV Park
made the ground soft, but standing water gone this morning.

Slept great last night and woke up to another nice sunrise
blue skies and light breeze. Up to about 80 today so we
are staying put and enjoying the weather.
Doing a few trailer duties and
Millie is getting a quilting day!

From sunny, warm Oklahoma
Make your day great
Hugs
Tom and Millie
