Winding Stair Mountain National Rec Area

Hi all
Yesterday it was hard to get going
waited till 10 AM before the rain stopped so we could hook up
We can do it in the rain, but the radar showed it would stop.

Before we get to far......
Wednesday we decided since we were staying another day
we should go to the Historical Museum in Longview
Got there and

Not sure, were they open
or not?

Lights were off and door locked
so we assumed they were closed.

Closed due to weather,
we were there due to weather.

Oh well, so we walked around downtown
and came across this,

So we gave up and did some thrift store shopping
and then over to Cliff and Joy's for supper.
Holly blossom on the shrubs at their house.

Now on to Thursday morning.
Saw this and wondered if we should go retro?

Relatively uneventful drive, kind of drove out of the rain.
Made three states in one day and only went about 180 miles.
Started in Texas then on to

and finally into

County here reminded us of Northern Minnesota.
Mix of hard and softwoods, creeks, rivers, bogs and hills.
About 5 pm we found the campground,
up the hill in the fog.
Got set up and grilled supper while having an adult beverage.
No power, water or sewer.
Just perfect,
also so quiet you want to whisper.
Played Cribbage and talked then walked the dogs.
Dark and foggy, very dark.
You could really not see your hand in front of your face.
No moon, stars or electric lights.
Did not have to go far and you couldn't even see the camper outside lights.
Also think we had the campground to ourselves.
A little spooky

Today we are going on to Beggs, OK
just south of Tulsa and was the closest RV Park I could find to my Cousin Mike.
Time to make coffee and relax watching the daylight begin.

Make your day great
Hugs
Tom and Millie
