Hi all
Yesterday we enjoyed a great day in Yellowstone NP
Of course it is the caldera of an ancient volcano
and is about as close to the hot stuff as I care to go.
So much scenery and so little time to take in as much as we could.
Got to see a Grizzly, not so up close
geysers
and hot pools
You know, typical Yellowstone stuff.
All in one photo, too!
Buffalo, fishermen, tourists, hot pools, geysers and mountains.
Had a picnic lunch by the big lake
and enjoyed the cool weather.
Spending the day with Chris and Rob
seemed like people we have known all along.
Sure makes the time together so enjoyable.
On our way back to camp
we found an Elk jam
When lots of Elk lay by the side of the road
to watch the tourists do stupid things.
Back home before dark and
went for some really good pizza and beer.
An absolutely great day with cousins (new found friends)
Good night's sleep
and off for new adventures today.
Make it a great day

Yellowstone Country
Good Morning All
Yes, I am back to posting yesterday today.
Since I wake up and let Millie sleep in a bit,
I process and post in the morning.
Either that or wake her up,
I just find it is so relaxing to get the computer work done
with her sleeping softly in the background.
OK and listening to Elska snore.
Went for a drive yesterday up to "Earthquake Lake"
It does sound like a disaster flick
and if they made a movie about it
there would not be a lot of Hollywood exaggeration.
In August of 1959 a 7.0 earthquake shook the region.
The side of a mountain sheered off and slid into the Madison River Valley.
Creating a huge natural earthen dam.
Also burying part of a campground.
Well, rather than me rewriting the event
should you be interested here is a link to explore.
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/states/events/1959_08_18.php
After that drive and waiting for "Pilot Car" to get through the construction.
We drove down to the Madison River between the two lakes.
Watched lots of people fishing and enjoyed the scenery.
Then back by Hebgen Lake and saw some of the damage
from the lake bottom dropping during the quake.
Then back to our "Big White Box"
Shortly after Rob and Chris arrived
After they were set up we all went out for supper
at the Slippery Otter.
Good food and great to get to know more family.
Slept pretty good, air is a bit thin and dry
and we will get used to it as we don't expect
much change for a while.
Now you can all go make your day great!

West Yellowstone
Hi all
We made it to our first "destination".
Set up camp and waiting for the fun to begin.
While setting up today part of out trailer connection parts
fell out of the storage area and on Millie's big toe.
Not broken and not swelling much.
A little ice on the toe and in her drink......
Now we just hope it won't slow her down, at least not much.
(I think she just wanted out of making and cleaning up after supper.)
It worked!
Tomorrow
Relax
Here is a shot along the Gallatin River.
Fall colors are just beginning.
I think we may be in for a real treat.
Make your day great!
Tom and Millie.

ON OUR WAY!
Hi one and all
I know we left yesterday and it was a nasty travel day.
25 gusting to 35 head winds, otherwise pleasant enough.
When Millie was driving I fell asleep and felt like we were in the boat
rocking with the waves.
Just a lot of work to keep the rig on the road.
Also gas mileage was in the toilet.
Well, we made it to Medora and stayed in the NP campground.
Beautiful evening, quiet, cool and felt like we were alone.
Great place to stay, just have to remember it is "dry" camping.
Water and flush toilets were still functional and that was a plus.
Last night we ran out of propane, yes, I forgot to open the valve on the second tank.
So at 2:30 in the morning I had to go out and switch over.
It had gotten down to about 50 in the camper and the furnace ran
for a long time to get it warmed back up to 64.
Usual time this morning to clear sky, 40 degrees and no wind.
Was beautiful, especially with a cup of French Press coffee.
Packed up and headed out.
Uneventful travel day, especially without the wind.
Gas mileage back up and we didn't have to stop nearly as often.
Easier on us and the bank account.
Tonight, guest of the Laural, MT Walmart.
And hopefully a good night's sleep.
Thanks Sam Walton, sure hope this service continues.
A little shopping and a bite to eat then bed time.
Make all of your days great!

Finally!
Hi all
Finally got the camper back.
A day late and lots of dollars shorter...............
But the good news is
we are packed and will hit the road tomorrow morning.
Took about 8 hours to pack the camper
I was surprised, but not having several weeks to go in and out
OK, you got the picture.
9 PM and I'm heading for the shower
Then bed for a well deserved rest.
Look out Medora
Here we come!
Tom and Millie
Oh yeah, Millie is just as or more tired than me
and she also gave the dogs a bath.
(Guess I will make her some dessert)

Just got good news!
Hi one and all
After a minor backing mishap,
the garbage can fared worse,
we have been told the trailer repairs will be completed Friday by Noon.
Means we will have less than 20 hours to pack and be on the road.
Whew, that is cutting it close.
We are mostly packed, just no trailer to put it all into.
Guess our first few days will be organizing the trailer.
Looking back on the 15 minute summer,
it sure went by so fast it is hard to remember what was done.
Now we embark on a new (continued) adventure.
First thing is West Yellowstone
meet up with my cousin Rob and his wife, Chris
Jaime and Barb are planning to join us there so we can have a mini family reunion.
After that, South!
Will keep you posted now and again.
Summer is over and Autumn has begun.
See you soon

TMBA II coming soon!
Hi all
Summer is drawing to a close and there is a hint of Fall in the air.
Beginning Sept 24 the Big Adventure continues.
Of course hoping the RV place can get the repairs done by then.
Backed over a garbage can and now neither the black or grey tanks will hold water.
So early next week we have an appointment for the repair.
Otherwise we are filled with anticipation to begin the next journey.
Stay tuned and check back for more exciting adventures.
