Finally acting like spring.

Hi one and all!
Been a while and I'm expecting everyone is working in the yard
planning, pruning and cutting grass.
Those that have summer places (including RV's) are working double hard
getting ready for summer and friends to gather enjoying the great outdoors.

A couple of weeks ago we traveled to southern MN.
Millie to quilt with her sisters and me to connect again with relatives.
The quilters made a baby quilt for Marcy's new grandson
I'm amazed they can do this all in one weekend.
Of course they barely noticed I was gone!

Putting the face on the long arm quilting machine

While visiting my Ken and Muriel
they took me out for lunch.

And the Gunderburger is a wonderburger.

One pound of local home grown ground beef
on a standard bun.
Doesn't quite fit.
Ken and I shared that and it was still a lot of food.
(It was really, really tasty)
Worth the stop,
you can find Gunder, IA

We also visited the place my grandmother grew up
and many other relatives
Great Sunday dinner with Joanne
and lots of beautiful country,
unfortunately it was raining most of the time.

Been spending some time at the lake
and some time getting projects done
along with lawn care and garden prep.
Glad we don't have a garden at the lake
it would be one too many.

Smoke from the Fort McMurray fires
has made for some beautiful sunsets here.

Even though the colors bring us joy,
our prayers are with them for a speedy recovery.
After our floods here we know it will be a long process
and many will not be made whole.

We are fully functional at the cabin
water tested good and all systems working.
Now to enjoy the summer and finish projects
at home and the lake.
Then start planning the TomandMilliesBigAdventure II,
Colorado, Utah and more this fall.

Enjoy the summer
and I will be back again when I have more to share.

Make you days ahead great

39th Anniversary

Wow! Where did the time go?
Never even considered we would be married this long.
Of course, never really considered I would live this long either.
AND I'M GLAD I DID!
We have had everything a marriage should have
Highs
Lows
Happy
Sad
Richer
Poorer
We were blessed with two beautiful loving Daughters
Lots of family
and so many wonderful supportive friends.

This year we sold the boat and bought a pontoon.
Will be much more fun when friends and family come to visit.
And today we went on our anniversary cruise.
I did promise her one!

Once around the lake Honey!
We are enjoying already,

By the way
If I had to do it all over............
I would do it in a heart beat.
(I think I would try to be less difficult)

With all my love
Thanks Millie!

April nearly over!

Hi all
Spending a couple days at the lake.
Still working at getting moved back in.
Cabin warmed up and water system all functioning at peak.
Finished up the deal for the "new to us" pontoon.
Wrote the check and now just wait for the call, ready to deliver.

Looking forward to relaxing
now that most of the systems are back operating.
Too many projects in town, making the lake look pretty good.

Still unable to locate the incoming part of the leak in the RV.
No problem finding where it shows up in the unit.
Will be looking at redoing the one and only joint on the roof.
Maybe this coming week.
Sun is supposed to shine!
YEA!

Make your day great
Hugs,
Tom and Millie

Continued mile a minute fun!

Hi all
OK, maybe not, but life is good.
Working at getting project done and life back in order.
No small task and we haven't even opened the cabin yet.

Enjoying having Chelsey back in Fargo.
She helps out a lot and keeps us eating a bit healthier.
Like supper last night,

A great Scandinavian meal
WHITE!
Broiled cauliflower and Cod with Parmesan rice.
With an exotic drink
OJ, Pomegranate, banana and Tequila
Kind of like a margarita.
The lemon was just for color. (Grin)

Life continues on and we just keep enjoying retirement.

Hugs

Wow, time goes by fast!

Hi all
Second weekend back has come and gone.
Been to my last bosses retirement party.
Guess it just got to hard with me retired.

Still working at putting the house back in order
and catching up on what it is we missed doing.
Getting the financial stuff back on monthly basis
instead of the once in a while mode.

The week ahead looks like no fires to put our
so we might catch up faster now.

That's about it for now,
I know, not very exciting
and looking forward to getting the lake cabin open.
Still a couple of weeks away though.

No photos, waiting for spring.
Will start with some soon.

Hugs

Trying to settle back in

Hi all
The house is a mess
the camper is a mess
and our lives are full. (big grin)

We got home Tuesday
and the boyz were sure happy to sit at home again.

Wednesday we got up and drove to Detroit Lakes
to get our big white mule serviced
Oil change and tire rotation.
Then we drove over to the lake cabin to check it out.
All is well and waiting for us to open
However, the ice is not yet off the lake
Of course we have not put our lives back in order at home
so we have to wait a few more weeks.

And the good news is Chelsey is moving back to Fargo
Her employer agreed that working out of their offices here
would help keep up the high standards.
Meaning Thursday, Carissa and I, drove out to Bismarck to help her move.
Got her mostly loaded up before supper
Then went out to eat with all her helpers.
This was my dinner date, Juniper.

I think she was trying
to imitate my facial hair!
I just loved the serious look.

Early bed and up to finish loading the few things left.
Grabbed breakfast and on the road.
We were not the only ones relocating.

Lots of geese covered the sky and many fields.
Snow geese looked like snow on the sloughs.

After getting home and unloading a few things
we were greeted with the reason we got going early.

This is the first snow that accumulated on our Big White Box since the winter of 2012-2013.
Was really hoping not to see this, but it is still too early here for green grass and daffodils.

Today we moved most of Chelsey's stuff to storage
until she can find an apartment or a house.

Yes the house is a mess
and the camper is a mess
we are just happy to be home!

Home!

Hi all
WE MADE IT
14,000 miles later
got to spend the night in a room that did not move when we moved.
So quiet too!
I guess I did miss sleeping in a real building.
Last shot of our Big White Box on the road.

After the great tailwind on Monday
Tuesday gave us a headwind
knew it was going to change, but only 180 miles to go.
And watching the weather reports snow was on the horizon.
Winter storm across SD and Southern MN
so heading north was perfect timing.
(Still miss the desert)

Just to prove to those that thought we would never be back

Rolled into Fargo about 1:30 pm.
Worked on cleaning the truck
emptying the camper and figuring out what to do with all this space.

Now it is back to figuring out what retirement is and getting the house in order.
Make your day great
Hugs (and our big adventure is not over, so stay tuned)
