Happy Monday!

This was our welcome to Yellowstone yesterday. Lots of them and lots of hills and trees. Was really windy so not much fun out at overlooks with 40-50 mph winds. Stopped first in Cooke City, Mt. We were going to do lunch there and decide if we wanted to do the park. All the restaurants were closed due to a power outage. Ended up doing convenience store food and ate in the truck. Better than no food at all! Since we did not spend much time there eating, decided to do the park. Was a great ride and got really late when back to home base. Fortunately Barb and Jaime had put a Corned Beef, onion and cabbage into the crock pot. Was on "hi" for 8+ hours and that was the way it should have been done. It was delicious, or we were hungry. I personally think it was just that good. Bed time shortly after that. Slept well!

Stayed put today. Jaime and Bard were getting behind on projects and I think we were all tired of riding in a vehicle. I took some time and re-glued a couple of their kitchen chairs. Was really nice doing it out on the deck in the sunshine, Low 70's and little wind was just fantastic. 

Millie and I made use of the outdoor shower this morning too. No roof or wall to the south. Warm sun and water, was really a treat. If you ever get a chance to do so, take advantage of the opportunity. With the low humidity here it was a bit refreshing when the hot water was turned off. But quick dry and the sun warmed you just fine. Really was a treat.

Line Creek Morning Light

Beartooth mountains morning sun from our campsite on Gun Powder Dr. 

Had a great day in Red Lodge with Jaime and Barb. Visited Red Lodge Brewing and sampled some great beer. Wandered around downtown and looked in shops. Visited an Art Gallery Reception and bought a watercolor. Found a Quilt shop for Millie, a hardware store for Jaime and Barb. Then had superb tacos at a local shop. Was a great day.

When back at the cabin sat on the deck and watched the stars. We managed to stay up to 10 pm. Wind has come up and can really rock the trailer. We slept great, maybe the rocking motion? 

Going to drive into Sunlight Basin today and up to Cooke City for lunch. May go into Yellowstone, but don't want a long day. Need to rest with all the beauty around the campsite.

Line Creek Sunrise

Good morning one and all!

Start of a beautiful day. Going up to Red Lodge, MT today for lunch and a Gallery Reception. Will probably do a little shopping as there are stores there!

Went into Cody, WY yesterday and got laundry done, visited Jez at his shop and saw his 64 Mustang under restoration (looking good Jez), washed the truck and brought Barb back up to Line Creek with us.

Jaime and Barb made us a great supper of fresh tomatoes, peppers, Italian sausage and whole wheat pasta. WOW! That was great. Visited until 10 pm. Since it gets dark so much earlier it felt like we stayed up really late. And it does get dark up here. Lots of stars to gaze.

Early to bed and early to rise, so I went and got this photos standing at the back of the camper. Nice way to collect morning thoughts.

Yup, here it is, the obligatory Painted Canyon photo. 

As the previous post showed we made if further. Up at the Oslie/Penuel Art Colony about 1000 feet above Clark, WY. Had a great evening with my brother looking over all the construction projects since the last time we visited. I guess he and I have similar timelines at our cabins. Just hope his finds completion faster than ours did.

Jaime brought ribs and we provided bean salad, scotch and wine. Was great to sit and visit. I will get some photos today even though it is cloudy.

First leg.

Clark WY. OK, need a pretty detailed map to see where this is. Just south of the Montana border. at about 5000 feet elevation and I am doing OK. Surprised me. It is really quiet here and the sleeping should be great. Had a few with my brother and am nearly ready for bed.

All set up where have to depend on the bubble to know if we are level. Hard to know where nothing is level. All either up or down. There are some positives to the valley.

Got a few good photos and will post some tomorrow. 200-250 miles a day is nice. Just not in our deck of cards to push and do long days. We are enjoying this now that we have a chance to do so.

Nearly ready to go!

Not sure which is more difficult, packing or preparing the house to be on it's own. Lake cabin has taught us some things, but it is closed, water off, and all shut down. House has to be in sleep mode, ready to go on a moments notice depending on Chelsey. Won't be here much, but she needs access and use ability. Plus we had to do all the winter prep for the yard and garden. So packing was somewhat easy, take or leave, those are the choices.

Think all is nearly prepped and other than a few, out of left field, glitches hopefully tomorrow.

Had to get out of town and to the lake. It has been an interesting and stressful day. Left the office hopefully in reasonably low confusion as they pick up where I left off.

Pizza and beer with Millie at the cabin. Didn't look like it would be much of a sunset, but the twilight is spectacular.

Find that the September sunsets often are some of the most spectacular. And the quiet........ so nice.
