Hi All
Yesterday brought some beautiful weather.
Sunny, only a slight breeze and 50ᣞ, encouraging us to get out and enjoy.
We started out going to the National Park Visitors Center.
This is in an old "bathhouse" on Bathhouse Row.
It also is a museum including the history of it's own origin and about Hot Springs.
Changing rooms.
One of the Glass ceilings.
A "needle" shower. Would be fun to try. Even though it looks like something out of the torture chamber.
The depiction of Ponce de Leon receiving water from the Fountain of Youth.
At least that is my interpretation.
Then we took a walk in the sunshine and enjoyed the grounds and investigating some hot springs.
And some of the Architecture.
A Bathhouse with the old Army Navy Hospital, which is now the Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center.
The springs are all over, most of them capped to collect and protect the spring.
These are collected into a distribution system for the bathhouses and public use.
You can fill your own jugs and enjoy at home. Surprised me that it is potable.
There is almost no taste and it does come out of the faucets hot.
We then took part of the park drive up to the Hot Springs Mountain Tower.
Thank goodness there was foresight to build it with an elevator.
Great view of Hot Springs and the area even though a bit hazy.
Stopped and filled a couple of jugs (drinking coffee made with it today) with the spring water.
Hope the "curative" effects kick in soon to get us back to normal good health.
Picked up some much needed groceries, then home for a nice campfire.
So great to finally get away from the cold.
Great supper of Salmon, roasted sweet corn and mashed potatoes.
Watched some Olympics and off to a, much needed, good nights sleep.
Make your day great
Tom and Millie
