Good by Jim, may you rest in peace.

Hi all
All is well here, Millie, Carissa, Darin, Chelsey and I are all well (except for the occasional cold).

Sad news to start our year is my Cousin Patsy's husband of nearly 55 years, James Yoerger, passed away January 27. I know many of you who follow this blog have never had the joy of meeting Jim. And for those of us who did know him there is a hole in our hearts now that he is gone.

Longtime Boring resident, Jim Yoerger passed away at his home Tuesday, December 27th, 2016. He was 79 years old.

James Dennis Yoerger was born on August 29th, 1937 in Sandy to Joseph and Mildred (Odell) Yoerger. Shortly after graduating from Sandy High School, Jim joined the US Air Force as a Jet Engine Instructor. After his honorable discharge in 1960, he returned home to Sandy to work alongside his father at Vanport Manufacturing.

On July 29th, 1962 Jim was married to Pat Staggs. They made their home in the Gresham area where Jim was working as a Production Manager for Freightliner. In 1984, Jim and Pat moved to Boring where they made their permanent home. Jim pursued his career as a realtor, not only selling homes but commercial real estate and timber lands until retiring.

Jim was a member of the Gresham Elks Club. He enjoyed bird hunting with his father and son, spending time at the beach with his wife, family and friends. He spent time doing woodworking and was a fan of the Dodgers and Seahawks.

Surviving is his wife Pat, son Karry, his daughters, Brenda, Becky and Jodi; 8 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

I was able to travel to Oregon to spend some time with the family and friends. All are doing as well as can be expected. I know how much he meant to his family and our prayers are with them at this time of loss.

We will all miss him.

Tom and Millie
