Had to get out of town and to the lake. It has been an interesting and stressful day. Left the office hopefully in reasonably low confusion as they pick up where I left off.

Pizza and beer with Millie at the cabin. Didn't look like it would be much of a sunset, but the twilight is spectacular.

Find that the September sunsets often are some of the most spectacular. And the quiet........ so nice.

Last day!

Last day of my current employment with the City of Fargo. Spending my time trying to be sure the "loose ends" are minimal. I have enjoyed working with them for the last 16+ years and surprised how I seem to look forward to what is to come and not apprehensive about leaving  a good job and paycheck. I will miss the interaction with coworkers and many of our customers. I believe that the Rental Inspection program has made a noticeable improvement in our city and even though all is not perfect the need for the program goes on. Always someone not willing to comply with minimums.

Even the Boss thinks I am done.

Thanks all for a great run.

Sunday September 6
Coming down to the wire. 4 more work days after tomorrow's holiday. Wow, sure came fast.

Out at the cabin this weekend and enjoying the slightly cooler weather. Still summer humid enough to keep moving slow and enjoy. Not sure what I am going to miss more, work or winter.............. OK, probably neither.

Even though, at work, we did not always see eye to eye, stimulating conversations did occur. I hope no one there holds any grudges as I do not. If we did not always agree, we backed each other up and learned from the experience.

About all that is left to pack is clothes and food. Hoping not to take much food so we can learn to shop and eat fresh. Also have to pull all the tools from truck and camper to consolidate, no need for duplicate tools. A little redundancy is OK, but doesn't take too many ounces to make to many pounds. Mostly hoping don't need any of them. Just know that all does not always go well and a little prep can be good.

Installed a Tire Pressure Monitoring System on the trailer. Hope it will give us enough warning of tire problems to prevent any damage to the trailer should one decide to try coming apart. Besides there is lots of tread left on the existing tires even though they are getting near the end of the "age" life. Have put money away for a new set when needed. Just hope we can make it to a tire dealer and not a service station.

Out on a Wild Goose Chase looking for a rummage sale. This was all I got. Red River Valley looking from the Eastern shore. Yes, that is a hill! Welcome to Minnesota, land of 10,000 lakes and not much more!
